Mission Statement
The mission of the Bill Haslam Memorial Library of the First Prebyterian Church of Noblesville is to support the mission of the church in "sharing the spirit of Jesus Christ" by providing resources for the spiritual growth and informational needs of our church members of all ages.
Church Library History
The Bill Haslam Memorial Libary was first established in 1985 in memory of William "Bill" L. Haslam who was serving as an elder in the church at the time of his death.
The first library was in a small room west of the sanctuary. When the 1989 addition was completed, the library moved into the room north of the Fellowship Hall where it is currently located. Library shelving and cabinets were donated in memory of John and Dorothy Mitchell, the parents of Marj Bill in 1993.
In January 2004, plans were made to reorganize and expand the collection and a new church library committee was formed to undertake this task. On May 1, 2005 the church library was rededicated. At this time, cataloging the library's collection is still a work in progress.
