A Bit of Heaven in Indiana

Having lived in Indiana most of my life, the topic of the weather and grumbling about it is a part of Hoosier life. I often hear the expression “If you don’t like the weather in Indiana, just wait a few days, and it will change.”  How true that is, and we have had some crazy weather this year.  When Anne asked me to contribute a blog post, I immediately thought about the weather this past week, and how it has been unusually delightful and uplifting.  Enjoying the open windows, the fresh air, clear blue skies, and crisp evenings makes one pause and give thanks to the One who created our whole world for us.  While doing some gardening, I noticed the colors of the flowers and watched a beautiful yellow bird flitting around allowing me to reflect and appreciating nature.  The Lord truly is good to have blessed us with our surroundings.  He wants us to enjoy His universe and to take the time to refresh, energize and give Him praise.   I hope that you too were able to enjoy this past bit of heaven on earth in Indiana.

How Great Thou Art (Second Stanza)

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze;
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee; How great Thou art!
How great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee;
How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
