Music Ministry

The music ministry at First Presbyterian Church, Noblesville is steeped in tradition, but also offers an eclectic mix designed to draw the listener into a deeper worship experience.  “Another reason I continue to serve FPC is their interest and commitment to its music ministry which is diverse in terms of styles and participation of adult choirs, children’s choir, bell choir, pipe organ, occasional ‘praise band’ with the minister playing bass,” says music director Dr. Michael Davis.  The warm historical elements of the sanctuary help to create a very comfortable worship environment and serve as a compliment to the overall music ministry. Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am to lift your voice in praise to God.  We are confident that the music will lift your spirit and put an extra bounce in your step for the week to come.

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir at First Presbyterian faithfully provides anthems, under the direction of Dr. Michael Davis, for our worship services nearly every Sunday September-May.  The choir rehearses every Thursday evening in the sanctuary starting at 7:00p.m..  They sing a wide variety of music from Classical to Old Hymn tunes and from Gospel to Contemporary.  In addition to weekly service anthems, the choir also performs a cantata, major work such as the Messiah or musical drama/opera taking an entire service at Christmas and again during lent.

Special Music
There are a variety of ways you/your group can be a part of our Special Music at the First Presbyterian Church.  September-May, you can share your talents during an Offertory, Moment of Reflection or Prelude.  In the summer months we depend on our “Special Music Volunteers” to provide solos in the absence of a weekly choir anthem.
At these services, we sometimes have one person/group provide two pieces, once for special music and one for the Offertory, but, we also often have two different people/groups do one or the other. So, if you play an instrument, sing with a group or solo, please consider being a part of the Music Ministry!

For up to date information on music, check out Church Events on the home page and also the FPC Facebook page.

The choir wasn’t in full strength on this Sunday but the music was powerful.  Enjoy and be blessed!
